Body Recovered Could Be Missing Orange County Man

A body that was found in Long Beach was thought to be that of a man previously sought in Orange County.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man's body washed up on a beach on the Alamitos Peninsula of Belmont Shore beach, Wednesday evening, authorities said. A fire department spokesman said it may be that of a person reported missing in Orange County.

Details about the person's identity were not released.

The body was found about 5:50 p.m. in the area of 55th Place and Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach Police Department Lt. Marcus Hodge said. The body was discovered near the waterline. When a lifeguard saw the person was dead, they called the police, authorities told the Long Beach Post.

No foul play was expected, Hodge said.
