California’s Best Haunted House To Visit

SAN JOSE, CA — If you’re in for a real scare and not just an attraction, a list from The Daily Meal has the best haunted house in California to visit.

“Current or former homes with a ghostly presence take on an especially eerie vibe, given they often come with tragic and personal tales of suicide, murder, or heartbreak,” The Daily Meal writes. “So we sought out real houses that are actually haunted for the ultimate scare.”

The Daily Meal consulted its past coverage and looked up reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor to come up with its list.

In California, The Daily Meal deemed the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose as the best haunted house to visit. Per The Daily Meal, visitors to the Winchester House have reported paranormal activity since 1884, when the home began construction.

Reports say Sarah Winchester is among the many ghosts who haunt the Queen Anne-style Victorian home that is supposedly haunted by “multiple spirits of those killed by Winchester rifles.”
