Californians Dream of Vegas Honeymoons

California residents seem to be searching for Las Vegas honeymoon tips. Recent research reveals American honeymoon Google trends.

Everyone has heard a unique stereotype (or two) about nearly every state. As it turns out, many states are pretty similar when it comes to one thing: where to honeymoon.

Using Google autocomplete data, an ethical jewelry company put together a map showing the top honeymoon destination searches by state. The graphic reveals that most states dream of traveling to either Las Vegas or Hawaii post-wedding. California was one of the states that saw sin city as the ideal destination. This was surprising considering how often residents of The Golden State take road trips to Vegas. Wouldn't newly-weds prefer to go somewhere a bit more unusual or romantic? I certainly would.

Interestingly, some states sought destinations either within their own borders or in a neighboring state. Utah, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Kansas were some of those that followed this trend.

Compared to other regions, those in the West were more likely to share the same top searches with neighbor states. All western states other than Utah either searched Las Vegas or Hawaii most often, whereas the South included three states seeking honeymoons within their own borders.

There’s no right or wrong place to honeymoon, but clearly most Americans agree on what the best spots are.
