Civil Air Patrol Squadron 150 Announces Officer Promotion

Squadron 150 is pleased to announce the promotion of SM William Laolagi to the grade of second lieutenant. Laolagi joined Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in June 2017 to volunteer and serve the community while also expanding his aviation knowledge. "CAP fit the bill perfectly" said Laolagi.

In his professional life Laolagi is a software engineer in the medical field. He has brought his software skillset and expertise to CAP and he currently serves as the Information Technology (IT) Officer for Squadron 150. Laolagi said, "I'm looking forward to being able to contribute in any way possible to help my community. With CAP as a platform there are many opportunities for me to accomplish this goal!"

Civil Air Patrol, the longtime all-volunteer U.S. Air Force auxiliary, is the newest member of the Air Force's Total Force. In this role, CAP operates a fleet of 560 aircraft, performs about 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and is credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 80 lives annually. Squadron 150 is a part of California Wing and South Coast Group 7. California Wing includes 3,000 senior members and cadets, and South Coast Group 7 encompasses six squadrons in Orange County, California. Squadron 150 is composed entirely of senior members (adults aged 18 and older) and meets most Thursdays from 7:30pm-9:30 pm at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base.
