Cuteness Overload: Baby Squirrels Saved By Wildlife Care Center
These adorable spring babies were being cared for after falling from their nest, thanks to the Huntington Beach-based Wildlife Care Center.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — This nest of adorable baby squirrels were in dire jeopardy last week, according to the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center.
"They were found on the ground after trees were trimmed in Irvine," a spokesperson told Patch. The squirrels, found Friday, are currently being cared for by one of the Wildlife Care Center's home-care satellites, they said.
And yes, we know they are adorable, but don't even think about keeping one.

Squirrels are wild, and can be a "disastrous pet" for both you and the woodland creature should you try and keep one at home, the experts told Patch.
"There are good reasons squirrels have never been domesticated," they said. Quoting the National Wildlife Rehabilitation Association, "a captive squirrel is constantly looking for a way out and their behavior cannot be changed."

According to the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center experts, the "greatest kindness you can do for an orphaned or injured baby squirrel is to let wildlife care experts care for it until it can be released back into the wild."
The organization, which also cares for wayward and injured wetlands wildlife, is a nonprofit and always appreciates donations to help support wildlife like these adorable squirrels.
