Drunk Parolee Swiped Boat, Cops Say

51-year-old man arrested after running boat aground in Seal Beach.

A tipsy parolee was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing a power boat in Long Beach and running it aground in Seal Beach, authorities said.

John Maxedon, 51, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. according to Lt. Jim England of the Orange County sheriff's Department.

Maxedon is likely to face a parole violation charge as well, England said. He is being held on $50,000 bail.

A marine towing company was called to remove the boat.
