Free workshop for high school seniors applying to college

Learn what to do and not do in your college admission essays

The Write Direction had a packed house for our first essay writing workshop in Irvine. Seniors can register for the next workshop scheduled for Thursday, August 2 from 4-5 p.m. at the Mary Wilson Library, 707 Electric Avenue in Seal Beach. We'll talk about why essays matter in college applications and how to pick topics, give writing tips, and discuss ways students can use their own unique stories to give colleges a reason to say "yes." Please register in advance at www.thewritedirection.org.

We also provide one-on-one guidance to students working on their essays. Students can apply for scholarships for free assistance or contact us about extremely affordable rates for editing. We're a nonprofit organization and want to help make the college admissions process a little fairer for low and middle income students in Orange County.
