According to an Orange County Register report, Stefani has "been doing a lot of songwriting lately," amid the pandemic. "I have been reflecting a lot on the older songs because back then, I didn't really have the kind of songwriting support I have now."
In the song, Stefani reveals her ska-roots and over 3 minutes shares vocal stylings reminiscent of songs like "Just a Girl" and "Spiderwebs" from her original "Tragic Kingdom" album.
