“Surveillance video from a business showed that a lady with a child picked up Charlie and fled the area,” said Beverly Hills police Sgt. Max Subin.

The police investigation led to Lynwood, where someone was found to be in possession of the animal, according to Subin, who did not elaborate.

Celebrities such as Hilary Duff, Lea Michele, Lance Bass and George Lopez joined in the effort to find the dog, which is a fixture in front of Cohen’s Switch boutique, by posting tweets about their friend’s lost pet.

A $5,000 reward was reportedly offered for the pooch.

No arrests were immediately made in the case, which remains under investigation, Subin said.
