In a stunning upset over Canada, the USA Team will compete against Russia Saturday morning in hockey’s IIHF World Junior Championships.
Rossmoor native Rocco Grimaldi helped propel the US team to the gold medal game with an assist in a 5-1 victory over Canada Thursday. The talented forward was drafted 33rd overall by the Florida Panthers in 2011 and just completed his freshman year playing for the University of North Dakota.
The USA will competed against Sweden for the gold medal at 5 a.m. Saturday morning. The game will stream live on NHL.com and the NHL Network station.
