Huntington Beach Powerball Winner Claims Close To $1 Million

A Huntington Beach Powerball winner will bring home almost $1 million, before taxes, when his Nov 15 quick pick ticket matched five numbers.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — It was just another day, just another stop at the Inces Beach Market when this Huntington Beach resident decided to add a quick pick Powerball ticket to his order. That one little decision has won him nearly $1 million, according to Lottery officials.

Efrain Flores was identified as the lucky winner who let the Powerball machine choose his lucky numbers: 48, 32, 44, 50, 23 minus that Powerball number of 25.

"We sincerely doubt he's complaining, as he walked away with hundreds of thousands of dollars," Lottery officials said in a release. "Flores claimed his prize of $945,906 (before taxes.)"

Flores's winning ticket was purchased at Inces Beach Market, which is located at 18015 Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach. That market is a lucky retailer, that sells nearly $4,000 per week in winning scratchers, according to the California Lottery website.

Flores respectfully declines any further recognition, according to the Lottery officials. No additional information about him, or pictures will be released.
