Los Alamitos Choir Is Tops In U. S.
The Los Alamitos High School Show Choir has received some of the highest accolades in the country.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — There are eight high school music programs across the country that have been named "the best" in the nation. Los Alamitos is among them, according to a recently published ranking in Flypaper Magazine. The six ensembles of the choir program were all lauded, including: Sound FX, Soundtrax, Xtreme, Connexion, Xquisite and Axcent, all under the direction of David Moellerkamp and Moana Dherlin at Los Alamitos High School.
Dherlin, the Assistant Choral Director, has won national champoinships and empowered students "to develop individual performance skills and collaborative creativity with support from professional musicians, choreographers and show producers," they said.
In 2018/19 school year, the Los Alamitos High School choirs will travel to Nashville, Ten. to compete on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, hoping to win the sixth consecutive National Championship, according to release.

Plans are already underway for the group to record their second track with the famed Norwegian Rock group Major Parkinson for their next album.
Residents of Los Alamitos can come support the choirs this year at their annual holiday show which will take place on December 6-8 at the Los Alamitos High School Performing Arts Center on campus.
