Los Alamitos High Seniors Named Students Of The Month​

Both students were given $600 scholarships.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Two Los Alamitos High School seniors this summer were awarded $600 scholarships after being named students of the month by the Rossmoor Woman's Club.

The club on Thursday announced it had named Feben Worku its student of the month for May and Jacob Endelman for June. Both students also received a certificate honoring their accomplishment.

In a news release, the club said Worku will attend the University of Southern California to study Human Biology.

Worku served as senior co-president of ASB, as the vice president of Giving Sport Apparel and is on the varsity girls soccer team.

"She is excited to attend her dream school, and study her favorite subject in hopes of becoming a Physical Therapist or a Sport Medic for professional athletes," the release reads.

Endelman is set to attend University of California Irvine in the fall to study political science, according to the release. He aspires to become an attorney before going on to work as a judge or politician.

Endelman has earned taken eight advanced placement classes, a dual enrollment course and has earned over 1,000 hours of volunteer work."Jacob has developed a strong passion for politics and has worked on local, state and national election campaigns," the release reads.
