One-Stop Mobile Center Hits The Road In Orange County
Looking for work? Need to hire employees? Orange County's One-Stop Center is hitting the road out of Garden Grove & coming to Los Alamitos.
GARDEN GROVE, CA — Orange County's One-Stop center is hitting the road out of Garden Grove, providing much-needed services for youth, adults, dislocated workers, and businesses while reducing transmission and preparing the workforce for post-COVID-19 return, Orange County Board of Supervisors said.
Chairman Andrew Do, First District Supervisor, discussed the mobile program designed to meet residents where they live.
“The Garden Grove One-Stop Center offers comprehensive workforce services to all residents in Orange County, whether it’s businesses needing employees with specific skill sets or individuals searching for jobs,” Do said. “The OC One-Stop Mobile Unit will take these services to residents who may not have the time or means to commute.”

The OC One-Stop Mobile Unit offers not only a fully accessible 12-station state-of-the-art computer lab but a wide array of workforce solutions for businesses and individuals by appointment, as does the OC One-Stop Center in Garden Grove.
Services range from career training, local hiring events, Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act program enrollment, education assessments, career interest inventory, case management, labor market information, access to support services, community partner referrals, and more.

According to Vice Chairman Doug Chaffee, Fourth District Supervisor, residents who have not visited our OC One-Stop Center should take advantage of visiting the Mobile Unit.
“The OC One-Stop Mobile Unit will offer an array of services to help residents with what they need to be successful in their job or business," Chaffee said.
Not only does the mobile unit help job seekers, but businesses that need to find reliable employees.
Businesses may use the Mobile Unit for recruiting, pre-employment screening, interviewing, and training, while prospective employees will be served through various job search and career development activities such as online job searches, resume and cover letter development, on-line tutorials and individual assessments, and exploration of training eligibility and options.
Supervisor Donald Wagner, Third District, spoke on being able to provide residents with the proper tools.
"This will empower them to achieve the power of a paycheck," Wagner said. "The OC One-Stop Mobile Unit will help people to explore employment options; we hope they find a brighter future as they enter the workforce."
The OC One-Stop Mobile Unit will also serve as a training room to educate the public on general health, safety, and workforce and career development. Safety procedures will be in place for guests in response to COVID-19.
This includes staff and guests wearing a mask or face-covering in the unit, prescreening guests before entering with a temperature check and questionnaire, operating by appointment only to ensure social distancing, and cleaning the Mobile Unit in between appointments and every evening.
Fifth District Supervisor Lisa Bartlett described the convenience of the OC One-Stop Mobile Unit.
"It will enable employers and job seekers in South County to have more convenient access to employment opportunities and services,” Bartlett said. “Launching the Mobile Unit will give residents as far south as San Clemente more flexibility to take advantage of the services provided by the traditional OC One-Stop Center located in Garden Grove.”
