Orange County Police Lieutenant Dies Of COVID-19
Lt. John Reynolds, a 25-year veteran of the Garden Grove Police Department, was 59-years-old. He leaves behind 3 children, including a baby.
GARDEN GROVE, CA — The Garden Grove Police Department is mourning the loss of Lt. John Reynolds, a veteran officer who died from complications of COVID-19 Sunday.
Reynolds, a 59-year-old father of three, was named "Man of The Year" by the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce in 2019. A veteran officer of more than 25 years, Reynolds was promoted to lieutenant in 2018 and was assigned as a watch commander. He leaves behind his 18-month-old son. The loss has hit the community hard.
Reynolds died at an area hospital, the Garden Grove Police Department announced Sunday. He had been battling the virus since the end of November, said Lt. Carl Whitney.

Reynolds is survived by his wife Jena, two adult daughters and his 18- month-old son, Whitney said.
