One lucky Californian is a million dollars richer after Saturday, Aug. 19 Powerball Drawing. Check those tickets.
LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Though there were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Saturday evening's drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery, one lucky southern California ticket matched 5 and earned over $1 million.
The estimated jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is expected to grow to about $650 million.
One ticket with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, was sold in Los Angeles at Vercher's Central Liquor Store in the 12000 block of South Central Avenue. The ticket is worth almost $1.1 million.

The numbers drawn were 17, 19, 39, 43, 68 and the Powerball number was 25.
The estimated jackpot was about $535 million.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in about 293 million, according to the Powerball website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.87.

The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
