Protecting And Serving An Out Of Gas Driver In Seal Beach
Seal Beach police & Automotive Excellence helped a young driver who was out of gas and out of luck this week. Here's what happened.
SEAL BEACH, CA — A Seal Beach Police Officer on patrol noticed a young driver and her dog who had run out of gas on the side of the road this week.
The officer pulled over, asked if she needed help but was assured she was fine.
Still, the police know the dangers that exist when a driver is stuck.

"She was going to walk across the street for a gallon of gas," the officer explained. "So I placed some road flares out for her and told her I'd be back to check on her."
One hour later, the officer was conducting a Facebook Live on a "virtual ride-along" when he noticed she was still there.

The community of Seal Beach pitched in, offering to lend a hand to the wayward driver. Still, it was Automotive Excellence's own Peter Lawrence who dispatched a driver to lend immediate aid.
"They sent a driver out with gas and even covered the gas!" Seal Beach officer Nick Nicholas said over Facebook.
Lending a hand to help was simple, Lawrence tells Patch. Both he and his partner Andrew are big into helping the community. The tow company works closely with the Seal Beach Police in all manner of crisis. Thankfully, this week, it was an easy fix: bringing out some gas and helping the teenage driver and her dog on their way.
"If something we can do to help, whether it's another business or a stranded motorist, we have a tow company that can help," Lawrence said. "It was the right thing to do."
