Recognize This Suspect In Westminster Hotel Murder?

Police in Orange County hope someone will recognize this man they believe stabbed a 22-year-old Pasadena woman to death.

WESTMINSTER, CA — Westminster police Wednesday released surveillance video of a man chugging on a vaping device as he climbed up the stairs on his way to a motel room, where he is suspected of stabbing a 22-year-old woman to death. The homicide investigation has officers reaching out to anyone who may recognize the suspect in this murder investigation.

The video was released in the hopes someone in the public recognizes the man, Westminster Police Commander Cameron Knauerhaze said.

The man is suspected of fatally stabbing Treeanna Nichols of Pasadena on Feb. 5 in a room at a Quality Inn at 6601 Westminster Blvd.

Police were called just before 11 p.m. to do a welfare check on Nichols. They found her body, which was stabbed multiple times, Knauerhaze said.

Investigators suspect the man seen in the surveillance video was injured during the attack, the commander said.

The suspect is 25 to 30 years old and is white or Latino. He is 5-feet- 10 and weighs about 200 pounds. He wore a gray, hooded sweatshirt and a dark, long-sleeve jacket with dark pants and dark shoes.

He was driving a dark-colored, late-mode, 4-door sedan.
