Car Fire Caused Traffic Chaos On 22 & 55 Freeways
A car fire on the 22 Freeway at 55 Freeway in Garden Grove caused a SIGALERT as emergency vehicles arrived on scene. Traffic remained heavy.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A SIGALERT was issued Friday morning at just before 10 a.m. as a car fire blocked lanes. A driver was reported outside his vehicle, and unaware that his car was on fire, according to California Highway Patrol reports.
The eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway connector to the northbound Newport (55) Freeway in Orange County was closed due to the vehicle fire while emergency vehicles arrived to put out the flames. Residual traffic was backed up for miles.
As of 10:30 a.m. the lane closures were cleared.
