SIGALERT: 91 Freeway Shut Down In Fatal Big Rig Crash
A big rig overturned and crashed on the eastbound 91 Freeway at Beach Boulevard. Only two lanes are open, with westbound slowing.

BUENA PARK, CA — At least one person was killed in a collision between a sedan and big rig truck Tuesday morning. The collision occurred just after 4:15 a.m. according to reports. The man, in his mid-50s, died at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said. His name was withheld, pending family notification.
CHP information officers said the semi truck collided with a black sedan. The truck ended up sideways in lanes, blocking the HOV lanes, according to CHP.
It is unclear which vehicle the deceased person was in at the time of the collision.

The crash closed all but the No. 5 eastbound lane. By about 6 a.m., the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes were reopened, but the carpool lane remained closed, along with the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes, the CHP reported. Traffic remained heavy on the 91 eastbound and the southbound 5 Freeway as of 6:45 a.m.
