SIGALERT In Seal Beach: Southbound 405 Stopped Due To Crash

A blown tire on a large Chevy towing a trailer led to a partial closure of the southbound 405 Freeway through Seal Beach Tuesday.

SEAL BEACH, CA — California Highway Patrol officers reported a partial SIG Alert on the 405 southbound through Seal Beach after a midday traffic incident. The #5 lane is closed due to a silver Chevrolet towing a trailer that suffered a blown tire Tuesday afternoon, according to CHP officers.

The Chevrolet and trailer were blocking the #5 lane, and one additional car was struck by the tire's shrapnel, according to CHP reports.

No one was reported as injured during the incident. However, CHP says traffic through the area was slowed to a crawl as of 1 p.m.
