Southern California’s ski resorts have a decent snow base, but conditions are icy, to say the least. The warm weather has been melting snow and creating hazardous road conditions as it refreezes in the late afternoon. Last weekend was a treacherous one for local hikers and drivers, prompting several emergency rescues.

We haven’t seen fresh snow fall lately and the weekend forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the balmy 60s at the mountains. While the winter snow season hasn’t lived up to expectations yet, forecaster still believe the ‘Godzilla El Niño’ could make for a very stormy spring.
