Blame the Blob.
The Blob is the reason your epic El Nino ski season has turned into slush. Wrightwood's Mountain High closed this week until further snow falls, and that's not expected until mid March. For now, the mountain's highs are in the upper 70s with overnight lows well above freezing.

Your Big Bear resorts are open, but it's been awhile since they've had fresh snow. It's expected to rain overnight Saturday and early Sunday, but there is a chance for fresh snow Sunday.
The Blob, a huge mass of warm water in the Pacific Ocean, has been driving to the north the El Nino storms forecasters expected to hit Southern California throughout the winter. As a result, local mountains have been warm and dry.
