2-Alarm House Fire in Los Altos Displaces 3

The blaze was first reported at the residence by a neighbor at 11:43 p.m. Sunday and was extinguished early Monday morning.

LOS ALTOS, CA -- Fire crews early Monday morning contained a two-alarm blaze - that started at a two-story home in Los Altos late Sunday night, according to Santa Clara County fire officials.

The blaze was first reported at the residence located on the 400 block of Van Buren St. by a neighbor at 11:43 p.m. Sunday, fire spokeswoman Luisa Rapport said. Fire crews arrived on scene and saw smoke and fire coming out of the roof of the structure.

Rapport said the fire was under control at 12:14 a.m., and that about 25 percent of the home - mostly the second floor and attic - was damaged. A dollar amount of damage wasn't provided.

Three residents of the home were displaced, but weren't home at the time of the fire, according to Rapport. The cause is under investigation.
