Gov. Jerry Brown on Saturday pardoned two Cambodian immigrants who could be deported, the AP said.

CALIFORNIA -- Gov. Jerry Brown on Saturday pardoned two Cambodian immigrants who could be deported. The Associated Press reported that Rottanak Kong of Davis and Mony Neth of Modesto were "recently detained as part of a federal immigration roundup, although a California-based federal judge has temporarily halted the deportation of hundreds of Cambodian refugees."

According to pardons signed by Brown, Kong was sentenced in 2003 for evading a peace officer and served four months probation. In 2004, he was sentenced for possessing drugs in jail.

Neth was sentenced in 1995 for receiving stolen property and participating in a street gang.
