2 Residents Displaced In Los Altos Structure Fire Early Wednesday

The Santa Clara County Fire Department controlled a structure fire that broke out Wednesday morning in 20 minutes, displacing two residents.

LOS ALTOS, CA — Two residents were displaced early Wednesday as a result of a structure fire on Austin Avenue in Los Altos, the Santa Clara County Fire Department.

No one was reported hurt.

Fire crews were dispatched at 3:30 a.m. to reports of a fire at the two-story residence on the 1800 block of Austin Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the second floor of the home. The resident was outside and reported that all occupants had evacuated the structure.

Crews were able to access the fire and bring it under control within 20 minutes. The fire was isolated to the second story bedroom and crews remain on scene for cleanup.

During this incident, significant accumulation of household items made access to the second floor bedroom challenging for fire crews. The fire department would like to remind residents to keep routes of egress in the home clear and know two ways out of every room.
