Amber Alert Issued After 2 San Jose Children Go Missing

San Jose Police believe Diana Moreira​, 33, took her 1-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter during a supervised visit.

SAN JOSE, CA --An Amber Alert was issued Saturday in California after two children from San Jose went missing Friday. San Jose Police believe Diana Moreira, 33, took her 1-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter during a supervised visit.

Moreira lost custody of the children who were under the care of Child Protective Services, according to police.

Police said the mother met with the children in the 600 block of King Road. When the social worker took the daughter, Prescilla Penaloza, to the restroom, the mother was gone with the son, Alexander Penaloza.

While the social worker was looking for Moreira and 1 year-old boy, Prescilla went missing. Both victims are believed to be with the suspect.

Moreira, who also goes by Diana Moreira-Del Rio, is described as a Hispanic female, 5’-4” tall, 120 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and medium build. She was last seen wearing a black tank top and black leggings with neon stripes.

Priscilla is described as a Hispanic female, 4'-7" tall, 80 pounds with light brown/blond hair with pink tips. She was last seen wearing a green jacket with fur on the hood and black Adidas pants.

Alexander is described as a Hispanic male, 20 1/2" tall, about 24 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a grey puffy coat, blue jeans and black Vans.

Moreira is believed to be driving grey mini-van or SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call “911” or contact Detective Sergeant Carlton Sheppard of the San Jose Police Department's Missing Person’s Unit at 408-277-4786. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 408-947-7867.
