Ann was introduced by Elaine Chambers who admiringly spoke of their friendship. Then Ann spoke about a wide range of topics including how after Mitt stepped down in 2008 she made a video and said she would never campaign again. However, last year they had a family council meeting and discussed the issue of running for president and the condition of the country.
Ann also spoke of her heritage and how her grandfather grew up as a Welsh coalminer but came to America seeking opportunity and freedom. She noted that he would be so proud of her speaking to all of us as a possible future First Lady of the United States. She additionally spoke about the economy and why so many of the women that she meets are interested in jobs and contributing to the forces that drive the economy. She quoted former first lady, Barbara Bush, “This is the most important election in our lifetime.” All attendees agreed.
In conclusion, she thanked the wonderful people who come up to her as she travels across America, and say that they “pray” for her to maintain her health and remain robust. She appreciates the spirit of good will that is extended to her and to her family.
