At Alotta's Cafe: What's Your Favorite Here?
Why fool around? Patch cuts to the chase and asks customers what's the best thing to order in Los Altos businesses.

Los Altos Patch wants the low-down on what's good at our local business. Who better to ask but the regulars?Â
Recently I walked into Alotta's Cafe, a fixture in south Los Altos for perhaps 50 years. Mike and Joanne Mansch purchased the deli and catering business from the original Alotta's family in 1981, and expanded it. They bake all their sandwich rolls fresh each day and cooks are busy pulling turkey after turkey from the roasting oven to serve the regulars, who come hungry.Â
They have other menu items, of course. Ravioli, canneloni, eggplant Parmesan, cucumber and tomato salad, and more.
When polling customers during my visit, indeed, the turkey sandwich was the most-frequently-named item on the menu when I asked, "What's your favorite here?"
But watch the video, and see what the regulars have to say.
