Construction Update: First and State Streets Will Close Monday
Parking at Main and First streets will be closed and the city recommends using the parking plazas.

All flatwork on First Street was scheduled to be completed, Friday, July 12, before the Art & Wine Festival. Flatwork includes new curbs, gutters, sidewalks and patches of asphalt. This concludes the concrete and asphalt work on this section of First Street. Landscaping and new street lighting will go in later down the line.
On Monday, the intersection at First and State streets will be closed. This intersection closure is expected to last until early September.Â

- State Street between First and Second streets will be closed to vehicular traffic
- Â Parking at the corner of Main and First Street (400 First Street) will no longer be accessible
Construction crews will begin layout work on Monday and will then begin saw-cutting the intersection in preparation for removal of the roadbed. Underground work will also be performed over the next couple of weeks including the installation of a new sewer connection and storm drain.
Downtown Parking

With the closure of the 400 Main Street parking lot, customers are encouraged to park in one of the three Downtown Parking Plazas. All-day Customer Parking Permits are also available for purchase. The cost is $25 for a pack of twenty-five permits, which are valid for all Parking Plazas and can be obtained at City Hall located at 1. North San Antonio Road.
Downtown employees are encouraged to participate in the Downtown Employee Parking program. The cost of an employee parking permit is $36 annually and allows for all-day parking in White Dot spaces in any of the Parking Plazas. To purchase an employee parking permit, visit www.losaltosca.gov/police or visit the Police Department at 1 N. San Antonio Road.
State Street Green
 The State Street Green will be installed on the closed block of State Street on Thursday, July 18. Temporary programming including family concerts, a First Friday Dance Party and the Los Altos Stride and Ride Festival are planned to take place on the Green.
