Cruises – Two great destinations
Glaciers to Ginza – October 2021 and Colorful Coral Seas – December 2021
Hopefully by year end we will learn it is safe to travel by air, and these destinations will be welcoming Americans. I speak regularly to colleagues overseas and they are very concerned about the high volume of virus that we are experiencing.

To stop feeling depressed with the horrible situation the world is experiencing today, I think a good way to think better times are ahead and be cheerful is to plan for a holiday. I am a big fan of cruises and must have taken over 100 with many different cruise lines all over the world. I can find peace sitting on the deck, or on my balcony, with a book. Now that I am older, my tastes have changed and I am happy eating in my cabin to watch a movie, dressed in casual clothes. Each cabin has 24 hour room service, with its private butler.
I have a friend who loves to cruise, wants to wear evening dress every night, and have umpteen jewels on every finger and have so many gold and diamond bracelets on, she jingles when she walks. Her lifestyle calls for this kind of evening and she wants to show off her affluence. Her husband is happy with whatever she wants him to do. If I told my husband he was going on holiday and must wear black tie every night, he would say – you are on your own.

These days, you can go on a small ship – 200 passengers, up to 5,000 and you are certainly given lots to choose from. Most cruises will have one “dressy” night but you don’t have to go to it otherwise these days it is comfortable, casual clothes. The companies have put lots of health, safety and protection protocols into place so both the crew and the passengers are safe in this time of virus infections.
A cruise which got my attention was on Oceania, Regatta, Los Angeles to Tokyo 25 days, October 2, 2021, Offer 1380722. Savings up to $9,000, with 2 for 1 cruise fares. A smashing itinerary, Los Angeles, Astoria, Oregon, Seattle, Washington, Vancouver, Canada, Ketchikan, Sitka, Whittier, Kodiak, Dutch Harbor, Alaska, Petropavlovsk, Russia, Otaru, Aomori, Ishinomaki, Onahama, Tokyo, Japan. This has a nice arrangement of days at sea, and time in the various ports of call. Many places we don’t bother going ashore, or we go with a private car and driver for a quick look at the place if we haven’t been there before. My husband likes to be able to say to the driver,
“I’ve had enough, back to the ship”. You will get 8 shore excursions, a beverage package, and $800 shipboard credit. The Frosch exclusive offer is prepaid gratuities per couple.
Another one which I recommend is Sydney, Australia, to Bali, Indonesia. 14 days December 3, 2021, Oceania Cruise Line, on the Regatta. Offer 1380728. This is a smashing way to see the highlights of Australia if you haven’t been there before. Sydney, New South Wales, Brisbane, Queensland, Townsville, Cairns, Thursday Island, Darwin, Northern Territory, Komodo, Indonesia, and Bali. You will get 8 shore excursions, a beverage package, and $800 shipboard credit. Plus, the Frosch exclusive offer of $400 shipboard credit per couple and a cocktail reception. You must go into Sydney a few days before the cruise leaves, and stay at the Shangri-La Hotel on the waterfront if you can. Breathtaking view from the rooms, and a wonderful restaurant. Go to a show at the Opera House, go to the zoo to see the Aussie section, and see the Blue Mountains. If you are wanting a thrill, take the bridge climb.
