Golf Experience of a Lifetime in Scotland

I’ve played golf all over the world on some good, bad, and horrible courses. What I am going to give you now is the trip of a lifetime. From the Mull of Kintyre to the picturesque Highlands. With views over the islands of Islay, Jura, and Gigha, breathtaking and windy with no trees. You most probably wont have the time to play on every course because of their remoteness, but go on the websites and plan your time wisely. You can do your island hopping on Caledonian MacBrayne or Calmac, sail to 29 destinations off Scotland’s west coast. Most services carry vehicles and passengers. Very good island hopping tickets. If No.1 and No.2 are remote, then No.8 Ashkernish is at the end of the world. You will put the golf fee in an honesty box in many places. You will learn a lot from the people who live in this remote part of the world. Here is where you should play:

I love visiting the islands. You see few people, no foreigners, and make sure you buy yourself some Harris Tweed. Last time I got a hat and a handbag which I love. My husband bought a jacket which will last him a lifetime. Six people came up to him one Sunday in church and admired the jacket. Most of the islands sell handmade knitted jumpers which are outstanding.

Rent a small car since you will find one lane roads only with passing bays, and make sure you have a petrol tank full all the time, few petrol stations. My father, a McDonald, always carried a small tin of petrol in his boot, along with a huge golf brolly (umbrella) Don’t park off the road, in the peat, since the car will sink. You will see castles, lochs (lakes) ancient standing stones, and the best highland golf you can find. I never count past 100. You will see lots of eagles, red deer, and otters.

Wonderful food, the best whisky there is, and as for the weather, it’s in God’s hands.
