Los Altos City Council To Consider Expanding Smoking Prohibitions
Prohibitions would apply to smoking of all tobacco and cannabis products including cigars, cigarettes, e-cigarettes and vaporizors.

At its March 13, 2018 meeting, Los Altos City Council will consider amending an existing ordinance to expand smoking prohibitions in public places. Public places are defined as spaces that are generally accessible to the public such as outdoor dining areas, service areas, entryways, and common areas of multi-unit residences.
The prohibitions would apply to smoking of all tobacco and cannabis products including but not limited to cigars, cigarettes, e-cigarettes and vaporizers. The ordinance also provides for non-smoking buffer zones that prohibit smoking within twenty-five feet (25’) of any enclosed or unenclosed area where smoking is prohibited. The City would like to gather input from the Los Altos community regarding these potential changes.
