Los Altos Garage Fire Displaces Residents
Santa Clara County firefighters brought the blaze on Arroyo Oaks Drive under control in about a half hour before it spread from the attic.
LOS ALTOS, CA — A garage fire that spread to an attic displaced residents of a Los Altos Hills home Monday night, the Santa Clara County Fire Department reported.
Firefighters brought the blaze called in at 5:08 p.m. under control in about a half hour and safely evacuated the two occupants of the 11568 Arroyo Oaks Drive structure.
The fire spread from a backyard grill, prompting the department to advise residents to keep their barbecues at least 10 feet away and away from the eves of their homes or other combustible materials and to never leave them unattended.
