Los Altos Library to Close For Eight Days

The bad news: The Los Altos Library closed for repairs Wednesday night and will stay closed through May 31, Community Librarian Jane Cronkhite said.

The good news: Residents get a little reprieve if they have materials due during that time. No materials checked out at the Los Altos Library will be due during the closure. Don't even try, Cronkhite said. All services will be closed, even the bookdrop.

The Woodland Branch Library, which was remodeled in 2010 will be open with extended hours during the Los Altos Library closure. Residents may also choose to use the Cupertino Library, part of the Santa Clara Library system.

Residents can continue to access the library online at www.santaclaracountylib.org.
