Los Altos School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Los Altos is August 16. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Los Altos School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/14 - 8/15: Staff Development
• 8/16: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/22: No School for Students (Staff Development)

October

• 10/19: TK-8 Minimum Day
• 10/27: End of First Quarter

November

• 11/3: End of First Trimester
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20: No School for TK-6 and Junior High Students (Conferences)
• 11/21: No School for TK-6 and Junior High Students (TK-6 Conference, Junior High Staff Development)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/18 - 1/1: No School (December Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (December Recess)
• 1/2: School Resumes
• 1/12: End of First Semester
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/16: No School for TK-6 and Junior High Students (TK-6 Staff Development, Junior High Semester Break)

February

• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (Winter Recess)

March

• 3/2: End of Second Trimester
• 3/15: TK-8 Minimum Day
• 3/30: End of Third Quarter

April

• 4/9 - 4/13: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/1: TK-8 Minimum Day
• 6/7: Last Day of School
