Mark Your Calendar: Celebrity-Judged Latke Competition Is Next Week!
Oshman Family JCC, the Jewish Network and Whole Foods Los Altos are the hosts. (Latke sampling, too!)

LOS ALTOS, CA – Whole Foods Market Los Altos, the Jewish Study Network and the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center are teaming up to host a Hanukkah Latke Cooking Contest on Monday, Dec. 19 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Attendees can watch four Bay Area culinary teams race against the clock to create the tastiest,
most original potato latkes and earn the title “Top Latke Chef.”

- Effie Speigler, Executive Chef, The Oakland Coliseum;
- and Kenji Lopez-Alt, “The Food Lab" author,
- Hadar Harris, Exec Director of the Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP)
- and Andrew Siporen, WF Los Altos store grocery team leader.
Rabbi Joey Felsen will serve as master of ceremonies.
Shoppers at the market, at 4800 El Camino Real in Los Altos, can sample potato latkes and other kosher treats, plus there will be a book giveaway of “The Food Lab” and book signing by Lopez-Alt.

this competition. It is a great way for the community to come together and prepare for
Chanukah,” Felsen said..
Hanukkah begins Saturday, Dec. 24.
