Meet Authors At 'Invisible Wounds of War' Friday Night at Books Inc. in Palo Alto

Join L.A. Chung Friday night as moderator of "The Invisible Wounds of War" authors panel in the latest event for 2013 Silicon Valley Reads, which kicked off Wednesday.
The featured authors, Brian Castner, author of The Long Walk, and Sue Diaz, author of Minefields of the Heart will participate in a conversation about the service to country, at home, abroad, and afterwards.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. at Books Inc. at Town & Country Shopping Center in Palo Alto.
The theme for the 2013 Silicon Valley Reads series is the "Invisible Wounds of War." Castener is an Iraq war vet who had three tours of duty and Diaz is the mother of a vet who went through two deployments.

"As we looked at this theme, we found that everyone is only a couple of people away of knowing someone or has a family member serving," said organizer Diane McNutt. "It’s the universal experience."
More than 120 activities surrounding this year's theme, the books and related reading for children and adults take place this year as part of Silicon Valley Reads.
