Rise & Shine: Free Lunar-Eclipse Viewing Party - Foothill College
For the first time since 1866, a blue supermoon will coincide with a lunar eclipse, but you'll have to get up early to see it!

LOS ALTOS HILLS, CA –Foothill College Astronomy is hosting a free viewing party of the super blue lunar eclipse on Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the Foothill College Observatory in Los Altos Hills, but prepare to wake up early!
The event is from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. and astronomy professor Dr. Geoff Mathews will guide attendees through this extraordinary event.
"For the first time since 1866, a blue supermoon will coincide with a lunar eclipse, giving the moon a reddish color. Dr. Mathews will explain this rare phenomenon and what it means for our planet," the department said.

The event is free, but there is a charge of $3 for parking on campus and exact change is appreciated.
Foothill College is at 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills, just off the El Monte Road exit from Freeway 280 in Los Altos.
