Santa Clara Co. Calls On Grand Jury Volunteers This Year

LOS ALTOS, CA -- Here's your call to perform your civic duty. The Santa Clara County Superior Court is seeking volunteers to serve on the 2019-20 Civil Grand Jury.

Volunteers of a diverse background are being sought to be representative of the county population and to ensure the Grand Jury is equipped with a mixed set of skills and abilities necessary for this broad oversight role.

The Civil Grand Jury's role as a civil investigator affords citizens the unique opportunity to contribute to their community by ensuring the integrity and efficiency of local government. Grand jurors have the independent authority to examine all aspects of county and city government, school districts and special districts.

The Civil Grand Jury is also statutorily empowered to inspect adult and juvenile detention facilities.
