Is Your Family Prepared For Emergencies In Los Altos?
Los Altos city officials care if you are. A workshop is slated for Jan. 31 to discuss this crucial matter.

LOS ALTOS, CA -- As part of the city’s work to improve the community’s ability to respond and recover from emergency and disaster situations, the local government has partnered with the Los Altos School District to offer a Family Emergency Preparedness Workshop on Thursday from 7- to 9 p.m.
The workshop will be located in the gym of Egan Junior High at 100 W. Portola Avenue in Los Altos.
Capt. Denise Gluhan from Santa Clara County Fire Department will present emergency preparedness information customized for families. Preparedness measures at home will cover emergency kits, communication plans, home fire safety basics and evacuation routes. Los Altos Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Ann Hepenstal will share information on preparedness resources in Los Altos and the neighboring communities.

Los Altos residents are also encouraged to apply for a Community & Emergency Preparedness Grant. This is a way for Los Altos residents to pool their neighborhood resources. The city will fund as many grants and projects as possible within the $20,000 budgetary limit.
