3 Rescued In Kanan Dume Road Crash

MALIBU, CA — A single-vehicle crash occurred on Kanan Dume Road in Malibu Tuesday evening, The Malibu Times reports.

At around 8 p.m., a vehicle with a driver and two passengers went over the side of Kanan Dume Road, about five miles north of the intersection with Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

One victim was transported from the crash via helicopter, while two others were taken by ambulance to a nearby trauma center. As of 10 p.m., there were no reported fatalities from the crash. The rescue lasted a little over 90 minutes.

The vehicle was not extracted from the canyon until Wednesday, according to the CHP log.

Kanan Dume Road has been the site of a few such incidents in recent weeks and months. On June 16, a car went over the side about a mile north of PCH, causing a brush fire. In December, a car skidded about 200 feet over the side near Zuma Edison Road.
