Authorities ID Man Who Died On Malibu Hills Hike
The 63-year-old suffered a heart attack while hiking in the Malibu Hills area, the coroner said.
MALIBU, CA — The coroner's office Thursday identified a man who died while on a hike with a group in the Malibu Hills, and said he had suffered a heart attack.
Emergency crews were sent to Kanan Dume and Edison roads after receiving a 911 call about 2:10 p.m. Monday, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
Jeffrey Sherman, 63, of Thousand Oaks died at the scene, according to the coroner's office, which listed his cause of death as "cardiopulmonary arrest."

The sheriff's department said the group of about 10 hikers reported they had run out of water and were experiencing dehydration.
