MALIBU, CA — Primary trails of Charmlee Wilderness Park re-opened for public use Monday after a two-year closure.

The 532-acre park off Encinal Canyon Road closed after suffering extensive damage during the Woolsey Fire. Repair works on "trails and erosion" began on June 3, according to the park's website. The park was originally supposed to open in September, but plans were postponed.

The park is now mostly open — with the exception of some trails — daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. Visitors are asked to wear masks, maintain six feet distance, and only travel with members of their household. Visit the city parks page for more information about COVID-19 safety regulations.
