During Summer 2021, the Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) will conduct 10 public hearings, ensuring residents from all five Supervisorial Districts can participate in the redistricting process. The hearing for Zone A (Santa Clarita area) takes place Monday, June 14, 2021, 7:00 PM. Join the hearing virtually via Zoom. Public commenting instructions.

The CRC will present an overview of the redistricting process, legal considerations, outreach efforts, the public access plan, and a timeline. Your communit input is crucial to this effort. These public hearings are important for receiving public comment and soliciting community input regarding questions about the redistricting process and what the public would like the CRC to consider in the redistricting effort.Â
Community members can attend more than one public hearing. The zones (see the map) do not represent the only time to provide input. If you are unable to attend the scheduled public hearing for your area, please attend another or submit written comment.Â

In 2016, the California Legislature passed Senate Bill 958, requiring Los Angeles County to assemble the CRC following the Federal census. The role of the CRC is to draw the boundary lines of the five single-member, supervisorial districts of the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors by December 15, 2021. The CRC is to be independent from the influence of the Board of Supervisors.Â
