Peak Continues to Lead in Fundraising

Skylar Peak leads in fundraising, but Joan House spent the most this statement period.

According to financial statements released by the city on Thursday,  candidate Skylar Peak raised $13,930 during the period from February 25 to March 24, keeping him in the lead in regards to fundraising for the 2012 Malibu City Council campaign.

Landing in second was Joan House and coming in third was lone incumbent John Sibert. They raised $6,446 and $5,120, respectively.

Hans Laetz received a contribution of $100 to his campaign, and Missy Zeitsoff, who served on the council from 1990 to 1992, did not accept any contributions this filing period.

Andy Lyon and Hamish Patterson have raised and spent no money on the campaign.

Although Peak raised the most money this period, it was House and Sibert that shelled out the most funds on their campaigns.

House, who served on the council from 1992 to 2004, spent $7,968.18 during this statement period, and Sibert doled out $7,237.84. 

Peak spent $4,527.34, according to the most recent statements, and Zeitsoff spent $992, which is under the $1,000 limit.

Laetz spent $927 during this filing period.

The campaign contribution limit in Malibu is $250 per person. The candidates' financial statements are attached to this article.
