Fiery PCH Crash Injures 2
A car fire marked the third serious accident in Malibu in a 24-hour-period.
MALIBU, CA — Three people were injured Monday in a fiery two-vehicle crash on Pacific Coast Highway. The crash comes just hours after two men were struck and killed on PCH, and then a man was killed when his car fell into a canyon near Latigo Canyon Drive.
Paramedics arrived at PCH and Via Escondido, near Geoffrey’s Restaurant, at around 11:43 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Fire officials told Patch that one car caught fire, while the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station reported that one person was trapped inside of their car before they were excavated and transported to a nearby hospital. One person was transported by fire department helicopters to a nearby hospital.
The severity of their injuries is unknown, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The westbound lane of PCH near Via Escondido was closed at about 11:50 a.m., and reopened at around 1 p.m. Thursday, according to Lost Hills.
