Fred Segal Store To Open In Malibu Village

MALIBU, CA – Fred Segal announced the return of the iconic brand to Malibu Thursday, slated to open in early 2019. The store was first in Malibu in 1975 when Segal was one of the original visionaries behind the development of Malibu’s civic center as a lifestyle destination, according to a Fred Segal press release.

The 4,000 sq. ft. retail store will have a tightly curated selection of products in comparison to the Fred Segal Sunset location, the press release said. The store will open in Jamestown’s revitalized Malibu Village alongside local concepts and community amenities including Malibu Burger Company, lululemon, Soulcycle, and the Depart Foundation.

“Following the launch of our flagship store on Sunset, this new Malibu store will showcase a scalable, Select Shop approach,” said John Frierson, President, Fred Segal. “This a critical element of our expansion plan.”

The Malibu store will offer women’s apparel, accessories, gifting and jewelry curated by Maris Collective who currently runs and operates the women’s store at Fred Segal Sunset, Collective at Fred Segal.

It will also include a men’s assortment and exclusive sneaker shop, as well as a separate beauty shop and Fred Segal Originals – modern essentials for men and women including denim, t-shirts, leather jackets and cashmere sweaters, all designed by the Fred Segal brand, according to the press release.

“Malibu is a coming home of sorts for the brand,”Allison Samek, CEO of Fred Segal, said. “We’re thrilled to become an important part of the Malibu community, and of course we are excited to take his original vision to a much larger audience around the world.”
