Malibu Adoptions Can Save These Lives

By J. Flora Katz & Andrea Braver

Colby
Want to change your life in a matter of five minutes? Then do what Colby did.  Find a friend who wants you to be happy.

Have that friend offer you a collar and a leash. And then get out of that cage you're in! What an amazing transformation Colby made under our very eyes.  Terrified, having been brought into the shelter by an owner who really didn't care for him properly, this handsome boy stayed at the back of his kennel day in and day out.

I will admit that he growled to keep us far away at first. But, we cut that behavior short very quickly. Because once Colby realized we were there as admirers, he changed his tone and was soon singing love songs to us. There were kisses in addition and cuddles and hugs. It was amazing.

Colby is such a handsome fellow, a bigger cocker spaniel in appearance with the coloring of a rottweiler. He's unique. He's indescribably gorgeous in person. And sweet as they come.

Colby is 2 years old and weighs 27 thin pounds. He could use a better diet to put weight on his bones and to thicken his striking coat and make it shine. Please consider saving the life of this young boy who yearns for happiness and a new home. Colby's Adoption ID No. is A1410536.

Lundy
If you are walking through the kennels at South L.A., there's no doubt you will see Lundy's face starring out at you, right up close and personal at the front of the cage. In disbelief and in hope.

Lundy's background is unknown. He arrived as a stray. But, there's no need to think about the past. This soulful boy needs a future and fast. There's something in those eyes and that graying face that is touching and a bit sad. But, believe me, Lundy is not sad at all. He's patiently waiting. He's not angry and he's not agitated. He's calm and even serene.

Lundy is a fabulous dog, one who would proudly carry on his shoulders any and all adjectives that equate to marvelous. He's a delight in the play yard. He's a leaner when not showing off his stride and gallop.

Perhaps he likes nothing better that getting himself positioned close to you and letting his body fall gently against yours. The shelter states that Lundy is 6 years of age and weighs 64 pounds. He's friendly with other dogs, wagging his little stub of a tale when they come near.

If you are looking for a true and loving companion, please come visit Lundy without delay. The South L.A. shelter has been counting dozens of new arrivals every day and this boy needs to get out soon. Lundy's Adoption ID No. is A1409917.
