Meet an “Amazing” Who Gives of Himself with Heart and Hands
Mike Klimchok, 85, makes sure that every resident of local nursing homes receive a Christmas gift - which he carves, saws, sands & paints.

Mike Klimchok, 85, may have retired from his career as a carpenter, but his hands haven’t stopped carving. He has made it his personal mission to make sure that every elderly resident of local nursing homes
receive a Christmas gift - which he carves, saws, sands and paints. We’re talking literally hundreds of snowmen, Christmas stockings, reindeer and sleds! It takes him all summer, and his hands hurt, but to him it’s worth it.
A Korean War vet, over the years Mike has also donated his carved figures to hospitalized cancer patients and
students learning woodworking, among others. Mike’s appreciated for both his gifts, and his often-mentioned heart of gold.
